Introspection is a subjective method of psychology: observing and describing the processes of one's own states of consciousness, which requires special preparation and training. Composer and violinist from the United Kingdom Emma Lloyd presents a program of Lithuanian and foreign composers, which invites you to explore global challenges, delving into your own, collective states of society or the surrounding environment. While some works will offer awareness of mistakes and necessary changes, others will open the inner worlds of the experiences experienced by the authors, and perhaps all of us, trying to survive in this era of change.

GLOBAL CHALLENGES

Humanity is quietly deciding its future. As the world stands on the brink of the pervasiveness of artificial intelligence, which could change the fabric of society, scientists warn ominously that we will soon cross a "red line" beyond which climate damage will be irreversible, as the earth's population surpasses 8 billion and the doomsday clock ticks. in the last minutes to midnight, it becomes clear that global challenges can change our future and everyday life at any time. How do we see and react to these threats and the future of humanity, and why, even when we are aware of the extent of the threats, are we unable to focus on saving the world? from the environmental impact of consumerism to the number of people in the world, from the scarcity of fresh water to the threats of robotization. How are these themes reflected in the works of composers, in the world of music, in our everyday life and in our perception of it? While continuing to develop the international program, the festival will also offer an important opportunity for the exchange of ideas, their global contextualization - the presented foreign creators and performers will expand the range of relevant topics, their access and perception and will allow us to listen even more widely to the mirror of global threats presented to us by music, as well as possible the future(s) of humanity.
