Cabaret punks - the band "The Tiger Lillies" returns to Lithuania

"The Tiger Lillies" is a British musical trio, which in 1989 founded by Martyn Jacques. Their music is often described as a unique blend of dark cabaret, punk rock, chanson and operatic elements, exploring macabre and melancholic themes through Jacques' distinctive falsetto and accordion sound. The group's theatrical performances have impressed audiences all over the world.

The Tiger Lillies will hold two concerts in Lithuania: on November 19 In Kaunas, in the newly revived cultural space "Daina" and on November 20. In Vilnius, Keistuolii theater. The legendary trio will present their latest album, Serenade from the Sewer, which delves into the darkest corners of the human experience. The new album is based on Jacques' memories of the violent, troubled Soho of the 1980s, a world marked by social inequality, poverty, drug dealing and the constant threat of danger.

"Many of the songs I write are about people living on the fringes of society. When I moved to Soho in the 1980s, I spent many hours just looking out the window... "Serenade from the Sewer" conveys some memories of that time. It was a happy time for me, but a tragic one for many people I knew and watched from my window," shares Martyn Jacques.
