Andrius Žlabys - Movement for Strings and Piano
"Each hall has subtle differences that are determined by both the interior and light. For example, the Philharmonic Hall is amazing. It sounds like it is not even played…" said pianist Andrius Žlabys in an interview. However, he will play! At the Vilnius Festival, the Great Philharmonic Hall, the pianist will call Johann Sebastian Bach's concert for clavery and orchestra no. 1 d-moll, and we will hear the piano philosopher, A. Žlabis Bach, known as the piano philosopher. "Andrew is faithful to a signpost that Johann Sebastian's wisdom is like an open book with ambiguous reference points. Stainless compass," wrote musicologist Edmund Gedgaud after A. Žlabis' concerts performed by A. Žlabis.
Also, the pianist is extremely active in the contemporary music scene: he creates, initiates and performs opuses of contemporary music. Tonight will feature A. Žlabis' Movement for Strings and Piano, whose sketches and the initial motif of three rising notes were born after the events of 2014 in Ukraine. The work has evolved from those feelings, thoughts and is dedicated to the victims of war. A. Žlabys then said: "I feel solidarity with Ukraine - after all, there was a threat to Lithuania. This piece was hidden by a feeling of depressed flair."
The virtuosic "Devil's Trets" is named Giuseppe's Tarini Sonata, a work that is often not the most experienced performers. So fans of violinist Sergei Krylov's craftsmanship will have a great opportunity to hear this piece, which, according to legends, just dreamed of Tartini: "One night of 1713, I dreamed that I had a contract with the devil ...".
After winning the first prizes at A. Stradivari and F. Keisler competitions, Krylov performs in Berlin and Munich Philharmonic, Vienna Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Milan Theater Alla Scala, Tokyo Sunory Hall, Buenos Aires Theater Colón and other scenes. As the artistic director of the third performer of the evening, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, S. Krylov organized more than 200 concerts around the world with this collective.
