The orchestra, which has been in existence for almost seven decades, will turn Vilnius into one of the European musical capitals on October 24. The concert will be conducted by one of the most famous conductors of our time, Sylvain Cambreling, who has been leading the Hamburg Orchestra for six years. The concert is also unique in that the world-famous pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard will come together with the orchestra - in the second part of the concert, the French piano virtuoso will perform a piano concert with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. This special evening will take place in the newly equipped concert hall of the LVSO, and the elite European orchestra will be able to test its acclaimed acoustics for the first time.

In addition to all this, the orchestra often plays in the productions of the Hamburg State Opera. From the 2018-2019 season, the orchestra is led by the world-renowned conductor Sylvain Cambreling, who replaced the 2017 conductor. the deceased head of the orchestra, the famous British Sir Jeffrey Tate.
The current artistic direction of the Hamburg Orchestra is largely determined by the creative ideas of its chief conductor Sylvain Cambreling. The famous French conductor is famous as an interpreter of classical, romantic and even baroque music (his favorite is Jean-Philippe Rameau). Among the many recordings of the conductor are recordings of the most prominent symphonic works of Ludwig van Beethoven, Hector Berlioz, Anton Bruckner, Antonín Dvořák, Carl Orff and other classical authors. Cambreling conducted the famous contemporary music ensemble "Klangforum Wien" for many years. He also performed with the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras, the San Francisco, Cleveland, Montreal Symphony Orchestras, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, the legendary contemporary music ensemble "Ensemble Intercontemporain" and many other famous ensembles. Having become the chief conductor of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra (he will hold this position until 2028), S. Cambreling transfers his vast experience in interpreting classical and contemporary music to this orchestra, and the orchestra's concerts regularly receive the highest ratings.
