Cello player Ivan Karizna is one of the most expressive musicians of his generation, known for his poetic interpretations and impressive, powerful expression on stage. The cellist is appreciated by such legends of the music world as the pianist Sir András Schiff, who described I. Karizna as "one of the best cellists of his generation", and the violinist Gidon Kremer, who claims that "I. Karizna has something special to say about the music she performs".
After studying at the Paris Conservatoire from the age of 17 and later at the Kronberg Academy in Germany, I. Karizna became a member of the prestigious international schools of P. Tchaikovsky (Moscow), Queen Elizabeth (Brussels), Guilhermina Suggia ( Porto) and the winner of many other competitions. In recent years, the cellist has performed with the Stuttgart Chamber, Frankfurt Radio, Brussels Philharmonic, Montreal, Ukrainian and other symphony orchestras. in 2023 the cellist made his debut at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw concert hall with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. In the second part of the concert, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will perform Jean Sibelius's (1865-1957) spectacular Lemminkäinen Suite, whose full title is "Four Legends from the Kalevala". Four symphonic poems depict the adventures of one of the most famous Finnish mythical heroes, the handsome red-haired Lemminkäinen, described in the Finnish national epic "Kalevala".
The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Arvo Volmeris, one of the most famous Estonian conductors. The internationally acclaimed conductor is especially appreciated for his interpretations of music by German and Nordic composers. Currently, A. Volmer is the artistic director and chief of the Estonian National Opera. conductor.
