"Undoubtedly an exceptional artist", this is how Ukrainian pianist Vadym Kholodenko, born in Kiev, was described in 2017. wrote the French daily "Le Figaro". The winner of the gold medal of the prestigious Van Cliburn (USA) International Piano Competition, V. Kholodenko is characterized by fiery pianism, an extremely wide repertoire and refined interpretations that are comparable to poetry. In the second part of the concert, the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the artistic director and chief. conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius, will perform Jean Sibelius's (1865–1957) First Symphony in E minor, which the composer wrote in 1899 at the age of 34. Sibelius had already established himself as a master of orchestration with his previous programmatic symphonic poems, it was the First Symphony that earned the composer international recognition.
