Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791), the Great Mass C-Moll is one of the most magnificent works of the giant composer's creative heritage and one of the most famous sacred music in the world. The Great Mass W. A. Mozart promised to create as a thanksgiving for the healing of his fiancée Constanze Weber. He started writing the piece in 1782. In summer, just before the wedding of the two. W. A. Mozart's father Leopold Mozart was dissatisfied with his son's fiancé's choice, although his letters to his father Wolfgang did not spare Constanze praise: "She's not ugly but not a beautiful. Her beauty consists of two little black eyes and beautiful figures. I love her and she loves me with all my heart. Wrote W. A. Mozart. Still, the father was not persuaded. For implied reasons, his letters to his son were later destroyed by Constanze. The couple got married in 1782. In August, but the Mass, which W. A. Mozart gave the promise to write, remains incomplete ... What the reasons are not known so far.
Another riddle is related to the Mass: why did W. A. Mozart, who was liberated from work in the Salzburg Manor House and moved to one where church music was not in demand, began writing a work of this genre? The most logical explanation, which is generally confirmed by the score, is the great discovery that W. A. Mozart did before writing a Mass, which is the late Baroque music that has been considered desperately obsolete before. In the Great Mass, W. A. Mozart coordinated two aspects - the pomp and solemnity of the Zalzburg of that period and the influence of the Baroque Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Händel. The premiere of the work took place in 1783. In October in Salzburg, with the participation of the composer himself, he visited his hometown because he wanted to present his father and sister to his wife.
