On December 28, 29 and 31, the house of M. K. Čiurlionis, located in the house numbered 11 Savičius street, invites you to the series of concerts "Magical evenings by the fireplace at Čiurlionis". With the magical crackling of the fireplace, the king's music in the cozy music hall transports the listeners to a magical world of dreams, fairy tales, fables and time travel. As we await the new year, we invite you on a wonderful journey through the labyrinths of classical music. December 28 in the evening, violinist Agata Daraškaite and pianist Simona Zajančauskaite will present a unique program that allows you to immerse yourself in the twists and turns of the Romantic era. J. Brahms, Clara Schumann and F. Liszt were interconnected and how their paths intertwined both in music and in personal life. From dedications to the composer's work to a dramatic love story..
Pianist Simona Zajančauskaitė is a bright performer these days: she actively performs both as a soloist and as part of various chamber ensembles. Simona's musical path was enriched by meetings and lessons with Maestro M. Rostropovich, Prof. L. Berman, Prof. J. Drake, Prof. S, Lehmstedt, Prof. L. Natochenny, Prof. V. Gornostayeva, Prof. M. Rubackytė. 2005-2010 S. Zajančauskaitė was a scholarship holder of M. Rostropovičius' support and charity fund "Help for Lithuanian Children", in 2013-2014. won the "Deutschlandstipendium" award of the Ernst Freiberger Foundation. For her achievements in music, Simona has been awarded the President's V. Adamkaus prize.
Violinist Agata Daraškaitė enjoys intense and versatile concert activities with both modern and ancient instruments. Agata started playing music at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, and in 2003 she left for Great Britain, where she learned at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music in London. After completing her master's studies, Agata was awarded the prestigious The Queen Mother Rosebowl prize for outstanding merit during her studies, which was presented to her by Prince Charles of Wales.
In 2013-2019, Agata was a member of the chamber orchestra "Kremerata Baltica", with which she she has toured extensively in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. , North and South America, playing in the world's most famous halls.
Agata is also an active chamber music performer with an exceptional passion for the subject of historical performance. This led to the creation of the Consone Quartet, a string quartet performing repertoire from the classical and romantic eras on the instruments of that time. The band are members of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust, BBC's New Generation Artists (2019-2022) and are enjoying a busy schedule of concerts in Europe as well as North American tours in the coming year. Agata is an alumnus of Keshet Eilon and participated in the Chamber Music Connects the World festival, where she performed chamber music with Antje Weithaas, Steven Isserlis and Christian Tetzlaff.
