(Un)finished is a concert program of piano music that explores the illusion of perfection and completeness. Here we consider the constant choices of life and a kind of selection that keeps people away from an unrealistically perfect and ideal everyday life.
Completeness is illustrated by the three cycles of piano music selected in the program: Franz Schubert's impromptu op. 90, Maurice Ravel's "Reflections" (Miroirs) and Randall Meyers' "Ring Around Silence".
In concert, these cycles sound incomplete - thus creating a sense of unexperienced perfection. Each listener will experience this program in a unique way: people who know these cycles may experience disappointment or joy when their favorite part of the cycle rings or doesn't ring. However, the most intriguing is the experience of those people who do not know these cycles. Will they miss anything in this program? Will they feel the incompleteness of these cycles? Or, if you haven't created that perfect life model, can it be felt as something incomplete?
We invite you to experience and find out for yourself!
LIVE MUSIC is concerts of various musical genres, usually acoustic, held in a chamber environment, (number of guests up to 40 persons). Here you can hear the music perfectly and have a nice chat with the performers and other guests of the event.
