This piano concert is united by the French theme - its cultural influence, musical relationships and composers' work. The program will be performed by pianist Onutė Gražinytė, who will invite listeners to dive into the subtle and diverse musical world. The concert will feature not only the music of well -known French creators, but also those whose life or creative work has been closely related to this country. and elements of folk music. The variations of modern composer Marc-André Hamelin, based on the 16th century, will follow. French melody, and next to them, French neoclassicist Francis Poulenc variation. It is an opportunity to think and compare how quite similar topics are interpreted and developed by two composers of different periods. Or maybe look at who unites one of them?
Romantic music fans will hear one of the most prominent works of this period - the first ballad of Chopin, where lyricism, dramatism and virtuosity intertwine. The concert program includes Olivier Messiaen's preludes where music is closely associated with the color world, as well as the piano version of Igor Stravinsky's "Bird of Fire" - a vibrant, expressive and dynamic composition that opens a colorful musical landscape. - Like a diverse look at the French cultural world, the influence of French music and links to literature, tradition, colors and motion: from ancient transformations to modern experiments, from romantic narrative to expressive dance, each piece reveals the spirit of time and the unlimited artistic expression!
About the performer:
Onutė Gražinytė - a talented Lithuanian pianist whose musical path stretches through the most famous scenes in Europe. After studying at the Salzburg Mozarteum and Hanover Music Universities, she won international competition awards and fascinates listeners with the sensitivity and technical mastery of her interpretations.
