The concert of pianist Inga Liukaitytė, inspired by M. K. Čiurlionis' work, combines the theme of light and dark - you will hear F. Chopin, L. Van Beethoven, O. Messiaen and J.S. Bach, conveying a trip from despair to hope and light. After seeing the light found in himself… ”wrote M. K. Čiurlionis. His work, full of light and hope, inspires the living with good and light even in the most difficult times. This concert is the search for light in the world and our own souls.
The pianist will begin the concert with the preludes of M. K. Čiurlionis, revealing the contrasts of darkness and light: Pastoral, Allegro, Andante and Animato Cantabile. After that, Frederick Chopin Barkarol Fis-Dur, reflecting the internal transformation of the composer from rest to complex experiences at the end of the joyful climax.
At the end of the first part, Beethoven Sonata Op. 110, in which the hero is led to the light during the trials, moving from lyrical melody to a triumphant fugue.
The second part will feature Olivier Messiaen's works from the cycle "twenty glances at the Baby Jesus". This music, imbued with faith and light, conveys divine love and light, especially in "Christmas" and "Baby Jesus' kiss."
