In 2024, the Nesun Dorema of the Night Concert-Marathons Festival was founded by the Lithuanian Musicians 'Union ... No one sleeps ... Introduces Lithuanian performers' chamber works and jazz music programs. Serenade (academic music) will be performed every night of the event from 9 pm, and from 11 pm, Jazz Nights. We hope that the music that sounds on long summer evenings will prevent Vilnius residents and guests from the city.
The events in the cozy, open music site have been continuing the old tradition of Lithuanian musicians' activities that have been counting for decades: the event has been interacting with the audience, the opportunity to ask and receive an answer allows you to get to know both music and performers. Saulius Sondeckis' piano is given an additional charm for events on the site. Every concert of professional artists here becomes a real luxury - the sounds of music in a small space of great acoustics unfold the wonderful shades of Oberton.
While celebrating the 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis' birth, saxophonist Jan Maksimovich and pianist Dmitry Golovanov invite a spectacular and deep musical journey that blends the worlds of classical music, contemporary jazz and improvisation.
The "Following Čiurlionis" program is an interpretation of Čiurlionis preludes, which is performed by talented improvisational music masters capable of developing original miniatures into larger improvisational forms. The preludes of the program, historically reflecting the genre of improvisational music, combine well with jazz philosophy. Both musicians with many years of experience enriched with shows in prestigious national and foreign scenes abandon traditional jazz stereotypes, maintaining the essence of Čiurlionis' music and in harmoniously developing his creative elements. Each work of the program becomes an intellectual springboard in which Čiurlionis' motifs turn into improvisational stories, while performers keep a lively connection with the listener "Here and now".
"We have been doing Čiurlionis' music for a long time. Initially we wanted to modernize, actualize his work, but in the long run we realized that we were not changing Čiurlionis, but he changes us - pianist Dmitry Golovanov shares his thoughts. Both musicians are jazz performers recognized in Lithuania and abroad.
