July 6, Lithuanian State Day, not only marks the historical date of the coronation of Mindaugas, but also calls for remembering what is associated with Europe: culture, music, longing for freedom. On the eve of this celebration, July 4, the concert "From Oginsky to Chopin" invites you to embark on an exclusive musical journey through the epoch, the states of the soul and national feelings.
Mykolas Cleopas Oginskis, the GDL nobleman, diplomat and composer, created his famous polonaise "Farewell to the Homeland" in exile, painfully surviving a losing fight for homeland freedom. After a dozen years, Friederk Chopin, who was born in the borders of Polish and Lithuanian culture, also suffered exile and created musical miniatures full of melancholy and dreamy elegance, which sounded the longing of the past and the desire for freedom.
This concert is not just a meeting of two geniuses in music. It is both a reflection of national identity and an emotional connection with the homeland.
Right Čepliauskaitė, famous for its subtle sense of romantic music and purified interpretation, combines the works of various composers in their recitals and presents stories of their lives and music by intriguing stories.
