This program is a poetic journey with piano sounds from Frideryk Chopin to Mikalojus Konstantin Čiurlionis. Two composer, although living in different centuries, is closely associated with the sensitivity of musical thought, aspects of national identity and inner experiences.
Chopin is a romantic figure in European piano poetry, subtly conveyed by the Polish spirit. Its mazurk, preludes, nocturns are filled with melancholy, emotional accuracy and individual language. Čiurlionis is a visionary of Lithuanian art and music, who created not only sounds but also images, combining arts worlds into a single spiritual whole.
Pianist Darius Mažintas is known for his sensitive, purified sound and ability to open the inner world of silence and light in the piano music. His interpretations are like meditation, inviting us to delve into the essence of the works and descend to lead not words but music.
This program is not just a meeting of two geniuses. It is a silent dialogue between two nations, two creators and each of us asking: Where does the true beauty of music lie in shape or feeling, melody or silence?
