"Dance for a cigarette and a best friend" is Greta Grinevičiūtė's fourth work, continuing a series of performances for a concrete or abstract object and a close person and his idea or memory.
" Dance for a cigarette and a best friend" analyzes friendship. A relationship of best friends or friends that is not based on blood or romantic partnership often becomes one of the longest lasting relationships in a person's life. The bond of friendship witnesses the collapse or creation of other relationships nearby, influences the formation of another's personality and changes itself. But here too - we move away and get closer, let ourselves in and distance ourselves, naked, vulnerable, sometimes jealous, but always in touch.
