Electronic music virtuosos "Covenant" will perform again in Lithuania after a 14-year break
True fans of electronic music nostalgically remember the Christmas event "ElectroXmas" held in Vilnius in 2010 and its main star. It took a long time to wait, but the band's promise to return will be fulfilled this fall: after a 14-year break, the Swedish electronic music star - the group "Covenant" - will visit Lithuania again! This time their visit will be a bit longer, as two performances are planned: October 24. in the Vilnius entertainment hall "Vakaris" and on October 25 Kaunas "Oase".
In the mid-eighties of the last century, three young Swedish people from the small town of Helsingborg became interested and discovered the world of electronic music. Joakim Montelius, Clas Nachmanson and Eskil Simonsson were impressed by the work of Kraftwerk, The Human League and Front 242. All these groups can be called pioneers of EBM (Electronic body music) music style. In the breaks between lectures, the guys experimented in a small recording studio until they decided to connect their future with music. In 1989, they chose the name Covenant for their band.

The first song of the band that reached listeners' ears was "The Replicant'. It did not go unnoticed by publishers, so the first album "Dreams of a Cryotank" was released in 1994. Two years later, Covenant released their second album, Sequencer, which became a true classic of the genre. Many critics rated it as one of the best electro music albums of the period.
1999. after the release of their fourth studio work, United States of Mind, the group was awarded three SEMA (Swedish Electronics Music Awards) awards at once. After these awards, Covenant toured Europe and the USA with great success, playing at the biggest electronic music festivals. It was noticeable that the band's style gradually changed from EBM to a more aggressive synth-pop/future-pop sound. Many critics and fans acknowledge that it was "Covenant" that contributed to the development of the then new musical style of future-pop. Albums like United States of Mind (2000) and especially Northern Light (2002) signaled another evolution of Covenant's musical style. This time they dived into a "dark" and "cold" sound.

Covenant - now electronic veterans of the music scene - stand out from other groups of this genre with more complex melodies, unique rhythms and expressive vocals. The band's music is full of energy, but not aggressive. Covenant always prioritizes good sound, creating a special show with musical energy bursting at the edges. During performances, the band only plays live. In the words of its members, "it's an opportunity to communicate directly with the audience, to see our real listeners, for whom we create music". During that time, they released three more studio albums, each marking new uncharted territory in electronic music. In the upcoming concerts in Lithuania, Covenant fans can expect not only the band's most famous hits, but also unpredictable and impulsive experiments, which the Swedish electronic geniuses often do during live performances. Where the new paths and detours of musicians lead is not determined, but one thing is certain - it will be none other than the world of electronic music "Covenant"!
