GLOBAL CHALLENGES
Humanity is quietly deciding its future. As the world stands on the brink of the pervasiveness of artificial intelligence that could change the fabric of society, with scientists warning ominously that we will soon cross a "red line" beyond which climate damage will be irreversible, with the earth's population surpassing 8 billion and the doomsday clock ticking in the last minutes to midnight, it becomes clear that global challenges can change our future and everyday life at any time. How do we see and react to these threats and the future of humanity, and why, even when we realize the extent of the threats, are we unable to focus on saving the world? This year's festival "Muzikos ruduo" looks at issues relevant to the whole world or regions from an anthropological perspective.
