November 9, 6 p.m., St. The Vilnius University Chamber Orchestra will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous Lithuanian composer M.K. Čiurlionis at the chamber music concert held in St. John's Church. A special place in the concert program will be occupied by Čiurlionis' Quartet in C minor, which will be presented in a new format - the quartet will be performed by a chamber orchestra.

At the beginning of the concert, listeners will be able to hear Johann Sebastian Bach' and the third Brandenburg Concerto is an integral part of the orchestra's repertoire. This piece has an impeccable structure and continues to inspire various performers and composers to this day. Accompanying the orchestra since its inception, the third Brandenburg concert builds a bridge between long-standing traditions and new, dynamic ways of interpreting music.

At the end of the concert, the orchestra will perform the Czech composer Leoš Janaček' and Suite for String Orchestra, commemorating 2024 as the Year of Czech Music. This six-part suite is a combination of lyricism and drama typical of the romantic era, in which the colors of the chamber orchestra's instruments are vividly revealed.

Music lovers are invited to celebrate the anniversary of one of the most outstanding Lithuanian composers a musical journey interwoven with traditions, innovations and dynamic performance manners.
