Two young couples spend the weekend in a secluded cabin in the forest - in their "north". The birthday celebration is disturbed by the unexpected news about the sudden death of a person who is important in his own way to all his friends. They have to choose: face reality and take responsibility for themselves and their neighbors or stay in the endless and eternal "north" - the abyss of dizziness. As complex relationships gradually unfold, the play's main themes - love, life and death - emerge. In the performance, they are explored with the help of mythology and psychoanalysis, poetry and physicality.
"12 grams to the north" is the latest work of 2019 "Golden Cross of the Stage" winner Aleksandars Špilevojaus, created together with the actors of the Vilnius Small Theater and the electronic music group "Black Water". ". This is a play about the search for love, security and connection between people. And about death, which is always near. "With this performance, I wanted to open the door of perception. There is a lot of love behind them. Each character in the play has their own perception of love. But the topic of death is also very important. How to preserve love for oneself, people and the world in a confrontation with the inevitability of death?" - playwright and director Aleksander Špilevoj opens the door to understanding the performance.
The performance "12 grams to the north" for more than two hours plunges you into a world of music, lights, movement, intense action and flow of words. However, at the same time, it also raises fundamental existential questions, invites you to rethink your values ​​and choices.
