Two young couples spend the weekend in a secluded forest cabin - in their "north". The birthday celebration is disturbed by the unexpected news about the sudden death of a person who is important in his own way to all his friends. You have to choose: face reality and take responsibility for yourself and your neighbor or stay in the endless and eternal "north" - the abyss of dizziness. As the complicated mutual relations gradually unfold, the essential themes of the play emerge: love, life and death. They are explored in the play through mythology and psychoanalysis, poetry and physicality.
This is a play about the search for love, security and connection. And about death, which is always near. The performance "12 grams to the north" will immerse you in a flow of music, lights, movement, intense action and words for more than two hours. However, at the same time, it also raises essential existential questions, inviting you to reconsider your values and choices.
"With this performance, I wanted to open the door of perception. There is a lot of love behind them. Each character in the play has their own perception of love. The theme of death is also very important here. How to preserve love for yourself, people and the world in the face of inevitable death? ",
says the play's playwright and director Aleksandr Špilevoj.
