Pazaislis Camaldulia Monastery and St. The enigmatic attraction of the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary has long stimulated people's imagination. The monastery was founded in the second half of the 17th century by the chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Kristupas Zigmantas Pacas. The construction of the monastery began in 1667. The mountain on which the building was planned was named MontePacis (Mountain of Peace).
Today, the monastery has more than three centuries of history, surrounded by legends, and is fascinating with its unique baroque appearance and colorful surroundings. During the tour, we will visit Pažaislis monastery and church. The guide will tell about the Camaldul monks and other owners of the monastery, about its founders and the most famous masters who worked here at that time, and will reveal the secrets of the frescoes.
Start of the tour: Pažaislis Kamalduuliu monastery near the ticket office (T. Masiulio str. 31, Kaunas).
Tour duration: 1 hour. 45 minutes
Excursion ticket price: 15 EUR per adult; 12 EUR for a senior citizen, a student, a disabled person. Free - for children and schoolchildren participating in the excursion together with their parents.
Additionally, all tour participants must purchase a visitor's ticket for the Pažaislis Monastery Ensemble at the museum cash desk. Ticket price for visitors to the play monastery ensemble: 10 EUR for an adult, 5 EUR for a pupil, student, senior citizen.
An excursion to the Pažaislis Monastery can also be booked privately, at a time convenient for you, during the working hours of the Pažaislis Monastery ensemble: from Tuesday to Friday - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Booked tours can be conducted in Lithuanian, English, Russian or German.
