EXCURSION BY OWN CARS
We invite you to an educational tour, the purpose of which is to introduce you to the manors of the Curonian Spit, both grand and smaller manors and estates. While traveling, we will discover twelve objects, hear their stories, learn about the families that ruled them, their activities and their significance for local, Lithuanian and even world culture.
During the tour, we will rely on written and other sources: what do they remember, what secrets do they keep, what legends do they tell? You will find out which great dukes the landowners were related to, what connections there are with Vytautas the Great himself, as well as who has already been forgotten and who is still alive in our memory.
On the trip, we will also visit the street village of Urkuvėnai, whose history dates back to 1563.
We will visit the former akalica, we will find out what happened here in the 20th century. where Vaižgantas was engaged in the beginning, and where the famous calendarist Laurynas Ivinskis spent the last moments of his life.
And finally - is it true that the Kuršėnai manor is the only remaining stately manor in Lithuania that has not changed since the 16th century? You will find out the answers during this excursion.

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
🕙 Departure time: 10:00 a.m. 📍 Departure place: Parking lot in front of L. Ivinskis square, Kuršėnai. 🚗 The tour takes place in your own cars. A distance of about 55 km will be covered by car. 🏰 The guide's stories will take place at each visited object and stop. ⏳ Duration of the tour: about 3 hours. 💶 Price: 12 Eur/person. 🎙️ Guide: Jonas Kiriliauskas. Important! All tour participants gather at the departure point at 9:30-9:45 am. After a short introductory story and organizational instructions at 10:00 a.m. together we leave for the first visited object. Participants drive between objects in their own cars, following the rules of the road and following the route specified by the organizers.
ROUTE: Paežeriai manor, Juozapava village cemetery (Nagurskii gravesite), Lapkasiai manor site fragments, Kvietkeliai palivark memorial site, Paringiai manor, Varputėnai manor, Urkuvėnai village, Čiuiniai manor, Ketūnai manor kumetin, Micaičių Crucified Jesus Church, Milvydai manor and Kuršėnai manor building complex.
