We invite you to an excursion-stay at the historical Daukšiagirė Manor!

Daukšiagirė Manor is an exceptional case in Lithuania - one of the rare manors that was built not by nobles, but by Jewish businessmen.

The construction of Daukšiagirė Manor in 1887 initiated by the Frenkelia brothers, entrepreneurs of Jewish origin. 19th century the manor was surrounded by gardens, flower gardens, a park, water bodies connected by canals. Until 1925 the land reform estate owned 264 ha of land. Enterprising landlords established a distillery on the farm.

Daukšiagirė estate was nurtured and profitably managed by Jews until 1912. The activities of the Frenkelians reflect a wider phenomenon in Lithuania - the 19th century. at the end of the 20th century in the beginning, the Jewish community was actively involved in trade, industry and finance. Daukšiagirė became one of the examples of how this community contributed to the economic growth of the region.

During the excursion-stay, we will touch the history of the Frenkelii family, Jewish culture, customs and traditions. Getting to know Jewish cuisine will complement the experience. We will talk about Jewish dishes, their origin and place in the context of holidays and everyday life. Of course, we will taste it! Traditional Jewish meals await you - forshmak, bagels and fruit compote.

During the tour, we will explore all the spaces of the manor, we will go down to the very authentic vaults of the manor, where we will open a page of the history of the distillery. In the candlelit cellars, we will enjoy a warming drink that is inseparable from this manor...

This is an invitation not only to hear stories, but also to feel the flavors and time when the manor lived in its most vigorous period.
