A space trip through the unseen quarries of the Akmenė district has already started!

The quarries, which have been in operation since 1932, are also open to lovers of indelible impressions. Stone quarries are man-made areas where you can see and touch dinosaur-era artifacts. Geological layers of the Permian and Triassic periods are exploited here, and fossils from the Jurassic period can also be found. The quarries are operated by gigantic machinery that weighs up to 700 tons. We will go on a space journey on July 25 at 10:00 a.m. Arrive 10 - 15 minutes earlier. Excursions take place even in bad weather conditions, it is necessary to take appropriate footwear, rubber boots.

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS:

Duration of the excursion: 4 hours. ;

Start of the tour: at the Ventas regional park visitor center (Ventas st. 30A, Ventos m., Akmenės district);

The tour takes place by private car (the distance is covered by car about 50 km);

During the tour you walk around the quarries (total distance about 5 km);

Ticket price for an adult: 11 euros.

Children under the age of 16 do not need to purchase tickets.

We do not apply discounts for seniors, students or disabled people.

Please do not be late and have a ticket saved on your phone with you copy.

1.5. Participants are prohibited from approaching the excavator and the walking excavator closer than 5 years;

1.6. Participants are prohibited from approaching heavy-duty vehicles;

1.7. Participants are forbidden to climb into the boom, cabin of the stepping excavator;

1.8. Participants are prohibited from going to the edge of the Quarry (cliff);

1.9. Participants are prohibited from touching electric cables and other electrical devices;

1.10. Participants are prohibited from walking on train tracks;

1.11. Participants must beware of stones falling from the slope;

1.12. Participants are prohibited from littering and smoking in the quarry area.
