What do you imagine when you hear "Lukiškės"? Perhaps a former prison or a square, the monuments and activities of which are the subject of debate or even controversy. And in fact, Lukiškės is one of the oldest historical suburbs of Vilnius, starting near the Cathedral and extending to today's Lazdyni or even Karoliniškii!
During the excursion, we will get to know a part of this huge territory, but there are many stories in it. We will talk about the Tatars and the mosque, about the terrible stench of the tanners who worked in the area, about the factories of the old Vilnius, bravuras and even the port! You will find out why Spanish and Portuguese were heard there in the 1950s. We will also show the house where a Nobel Prize laureate, a lion and the author of hit songs lived. We will also remember America, which Vilnius residents rushed to Lukiške to taste in the early years of independence. There are still works of modern art, a synagogue, houses decorated with natural motifs: there is really more to Lukiškės than a square and a prison.

🍺End of the tour: near the Liubart Bridge.
Please do not be late and have a copy of the ticket saved on your phone with you. The guide's phone is muted during the tour, so if you arrive late, your options will be quite limited.
Children under the age of 10 who are accompanied by an adult do not need a ticket, but please consider your child's capabilities and take into account their wishes to participate in the excursion.
