The treasure is located in Vilnius St. in the church of Archangel Michael and the former St. Bernard monastery.
St. The impressive jewels of the Vilnius Cathedral are kept in the Archangel Michael's Church. It is the oldest and most abundant of all the treasures kept in the churches of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. From the 14th century, it was enriched with gifts by rulers, nobles, and bishops. On the eve of the Second World War, it was so safely hidden that it was considered lost for almost half a century, until 1985. Golden liturgical vessels dating back to the 14th century, decorated with pearls and precious stones, are stored in the treasury. These are real masterpieces of goldsmithing. Here you can also familiarize yourself with the beautiful examples of church textiles, the patterns and stories of which will interest even the smallest visitors.
In the premises of the former Bernardine monastery, the history, heritage and values of seventeen monasteries in Vilnius are presented - from the miraculously preserved 18th-century painting of the betrothal of the Virgin Mary and Joseph to the great monstrance of the Bernardine Church, which was destroyed by the Russian army in 1655. was hidden in the garden of the monastery.
