The Church Heritage Museum presents the exhibition of the artist, national award winner Eglė Ridikaitė in the historical place of Vilnius - St. George the Martyr Church. This almost 80-year-old closed space is being opened to visitors for the first time.
Eglė Ridikaitė's exhibition combines different places of faith, painful historical experiences and the feeling of vulnerability of the present with a unique artistic gesture. "Removals" unfolds as a silent but conceptually dense story about the city, simultaneously experiencing the layers of pre-war Jewish and Christian Vilnius, exploring the processes of survival and disappearance, past life and memory and oblivion.
At the center of the exhibition is a gigantic structure hanging in the church space from the artist's canvases combined into one formation with the "removed" space of the destroyed Great Synagogue. fragments, natural-scale synagogue bimah and mikva floors, moon-like column feet and other outcrops.
The exhibition takes place in St. Jurgios Kankinis Church (entrance from K. Sirvyda St. 4, through the old gate).
The exhibition will be open from May 14 to October 3,
