Birutė Mar's one-man show "Poetė" - about the fate of the most prominent Lithuanian poetess of the last century, S. Nėrias, who has already become a universal 20th century poet. the myth of the artist's tragic fate.

Although sixty years have passed since the death of Salomeja Nėries, her life remains a mystery: accusations about her political mistakes, allegedly underestimating her talented work, do not stop. Just over a decade ago, S. Nėris's last collection of poetry from the war years, "On the big road", was published, reflecting her tragic states and experiences in emigration in Russia, in the last years of the poet's short life... It is said that her diaries from the war years have also been handed over to someone, which maybe someday too will see the light of day.

However, even reading the diary entries of S. Nėris (which the poet wrote all the time, from the age of fourteen), it is difficult to answer many questions about her personal life (probably not necessary), because it is a spark of the artist's fate a document testifying to the fact that there is a huge gap between the problems solved by the Creator and those that arise in real human life.
The documentary form of "Poet's Court" was chosen for the performance: excerpts from articles accusing and defending S. Nėris are heard from the hall, even a statement is heard (appeared last year "Šiaurės Atėnai", commemorating the hundredth anniversary of the birth of S.Nėries), that the Poet was forced to be sentenced to death. Every creator and every person is judged in the same way. An attempt was made to trace how S.Nėris came from the poems beaming with joy from her youth to the "Poem about Stalin", how this turning point happened, what prompted it (answers were sought in her diary and work, which S.Nėris wrote from the age of fourteen); it is an attempt to rehabilitate the Poet, for whom creativity was the true and happy life...

"Poet" is also a pretext and an opportunity to talk about the present, about the Creator and society's attitude towards him, which is often hostile. This is an extremely relevant and modern topic.
