The idea of reviving the tango pieces played in Lithuania between the wars has been brewing for a long time on the stage of the Vilnius Tango Theater. Tango, born in Argentina, crossed the ocean and wandered around Europe in the 20th century. at the beginning he also wandered into Lithuania. Here he was met ambiguously - he was both admired and resented, just like everywhere else.
Vilnius Tango Theater, which has been enthralling the audience with impressive Argentine tango performances for ten years, has fulfilled an old dream and invites you to a special evening together with "LILA TRIO". And it's no accident - tango is a dance of freedom that finds a place in the minds and hearts of free people.
For the first time in the history of the theater, tango is spoken in Lithuanian - revealing the beauty, elegance and passions of the tango songs sung by the legendary interwar composers Danielias Dolskis and Antanas Šabaniauskas.
This show confirms a little-known but important truth: tango was danced and sung in Lithuania during the interwar period, just a few decades after its appearance in Argentina.
Dancers: European tango champion Alexis Gonzalez, Vilnius tango theater dancers: Veronica Luna, Jorgelina Leotta, Fernando Muñoz, Gabriel Carballo, Jade Rodriguez, Eduardo Pedroso, Sol Oyhenart.
Vocalists: Lauryna Labutytė and Greta Švedkauskė;
