"Karls and Flowers" is a Baltic Ballet Theater (BBT) play for small audiences. The ballet features the unique music of Patrick Doyle, from the soundtracks of the "Harry Potter" films. The main character, Karl, performs magical magic tricks, surprising all viewers not only with effective ballet technique, but also with funny jokes. The fairy tale is illustrated with video installations that help children clearly understand the ballet libretto.
The author of the plot - BBT director and choreographer, Marija Simona Smolskienė.
The story tells about the gardener, the sorcerer Karla, in whose magical park, once upon a time, there grew a small gray sprout, ugly, modest, sad, everyone called him Taja. Next to Taya flourished a wonderful bright, pink, full of pride flower - Flora, whom everyone loved, cared for, adored, and praised, in contrast to the gray Taya. Flora didn't like the small, dirty plant growing next to her, sometimes she even deliberately stepped on it, not wanting her own beauty to be overshadowed by the gray, ugly plants. The caretaker of all the flowers was a wizard, the gardener - Karl. He was a very funny prankster, he was loved by all the children and the flowers in the garden, but once Karl noticed that Taya does not express herself at all, she is always sad, cries a lot, no one likes her. The gardener did not amuse the seedling even with his tricks. But once, Karl saw how the charming flower Flora tried to poison the sapling Taya. He was very angry with Flora, he tried to teach her that one should not act like that, a big storm arose, which scared all the flowers in the garden, but Karl would not have been a miracle worker - he watered little Taya with magic dust, thanks to which the sprout began to grow, spread, became pink, became as beautiful as Flora. The beautiful Flora was furious with anger, but she did not even suspect that soon she would have a little good friend, Taya, whom she would love as her sister. In the finale, everyone happily danced with Taja in the wind and dew drops, and finally the seedling became a happy and cheerful flower, like all the plants in the garden. Karl's spell opened the eyes not only of Flora, but also of all the flowers in the garden. The storms of anger disappeared, the lightning subsided, and everyone danced joyfully, bathed in the blossoms of flowers and celebrated a new beautiful festival of harmony.
