Waiting Psychology on stage: The performance "I was at home and waited for the rain" returns with a new look at the woman's inner world

On June 27, in the Lithuanian Small Capital of Culture - Kudirka Naumiestis - the premiere of the old flax factory - the newly staged performance "I was at home and I waited for the rain" (aut. Jean -LUC Lagarce) will open up five women's waiting drama and openly spoke about the mental health of today's woman.

"It is a unique history of women talking about women's social exclusion, emotional well -being, integration and public attitude," says director Lina Inga Stankaitytė, who has raised the play by Jean -Luc Lagarce. The director opens the work by complementing the context of the modern time: transmitting psychological trauma in the family and still alive stereotypes.

The performance features five different generations of actresses, revealing how long -term wait and loss experiences have a woman's mental health. Five women are waiting for a missing family member, brother, son, husband, grandson, lover. The waiting voltage breaks - for each different, each painfully and in its own way.

"Waiting for the performance is an allegory to a family system trauma passed down from generation to generation and leads to women's lives. It is a heavy burden that we move into tomorrow. How much courage and awareness need to be transcended to cross stereotypes, inhalation of fresh air and turn the burden into wings," says the director.
