"MEAT FACTORY"
The dance performance "Meat factory", based on Jaroslav Melnik's novel "Masha, or Postfascism", depicts a post-fascist society, raises issues that are relevant in the face of the geopolitical events of the 21st century. , when humanistic values are increasingly mentioned.
The show is full of analysis of the assumptions of fascism in a society where propaganda and lies prevail. the team explores the themes of humanity, freedom, responsibility, questions the ideas of humanism and post-humanism, when economic interests become more important than human interests in the capitalist system.
When do incomprehensible things become the norm? What is the anatomy of cruelty? Why are we capable of being cruel to other people or animals? What is humanity? Can love save us?
The interdisciplinary performance combines electronic music and contemporary dance with elements of flamenco and butoh. Visual physical theater with intense action on stage characteristic of performance art, distinguished by the atmosphere created by sound, lights and cinematic video projections, minimal scenography and props.
It is important - intensive light and sound installations are used during the performance, the effects of which can influence for people with epilepsy and those who are more sensitive. N-18, recommended for adults.
The project is financed by the Lithuanian Culture Council, the project partner is the Panevėžys Cultural Center.
