Fifteen-year-old Kristofer Bun, who has an autism spectrum disorder, is characterized by an exceptional mind - he is extremely attentive to details, knows mathematics well, is interested in space, but has difficulty living with his everyday environment, does not like to be touched, does not trust people.
One night, at seven minutes past midnight, the boy finds the neighbor Mrs. Shirs's dog, Wellington, killed under mysterious circumstances. Feeling blamed for the dog's death, Christopher decides to find the real culprit, but he has no idea where this strange event will lead him.
English author Mark Haddon (born 1962) is best known for his novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, published in 2003. and soon became an international bestseller (the novel was published in Lithuania in 2004 by "Tyto alba", in 2020 by "Sofoklis"; translator Birutė Bersėnienė). The novel has won more than 17 literary prizes, including the prestigious Whitbread Book of the Year Award and the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book. in 2019 In The Guardian's 100 Best 21st Century was rated #19 on the book list of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time." Mark Haddon also writes plays, children's books, poetry, scripts for television and radio plays.
English playwright Simon Stephens (b. 1971) since the beginning of his career in 1998. has written almost thirty plays and adaptations of novels for the stage. The plays of this playwright vary from realism to poetic fragmentation, from storytelling to the new noir style. The most critically acclaimed is the adaptation of Mark Haddon's novel "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time", which was released in 2015. won the Tony Award for Best Play. The work of Simon Stephens is considered one of the most important pillars of modern British theatre.
