The play "Let's try again" is based on the play "God of Slaughter" (2008) by the famous French author Yasmina Reza. This comedy of subtle black humor brought the author many prestigious awards, the play is still staged all over the world. The comedy depicts a situation that is quite domestic and easily recognizable to many of us. One afternoon, two intelligent couples meet to discuss a fight between their children, during which one boy's tooth was knocked out. The parents of the children - the families of Ujė and Rejė - are trying to resolve the conflict in a supposedly civilized manner, finding a way of reconciliation acceptable to all. At the beginning, the polite and civilized communication gradually takes on an increasingly harsh tone - with each attempt to communicate, the tension between the families and the couples themselves grows more and more. In the middle of the meeting, the coffee is replaced by rum, and then the hatred, dissatisfaction and even aggression hidden under the external gloss and decency of the couple emerge. Couples start throwing not only accusations, irrational arguments, sexist and homophobic insults, but also things that happen to be at hand. A planned meeting of civilized adults ends in childish uncontrolled chaos. Although at first glance the content of the comedy seems quite simple, domestic and even banal, in fact, many themes and deeper layers of meaning are hidden in it. The biggest achievement of this comedy is not direct, but intellectual and very accurate humor with a light touch of irony, which is sarcastic and measured on stage by a quartet of talented actors. Critics unanimously agree that Y. Reza's subtle and incomparable humor satisfies even the most discerning audience.
