A feast is held in Paris to commemorate the birthday of the state dictator, the Duke of the Duke, the Duke of Pontel, the Duchy of Pontel. During the feast, the main focus is to the widow, Hana Glavari, who inherited 20 billion from her husband's banker. Hana Glavari is a fiery temperament woman intending to marry again. The officials of the Pontedro Embassy are worried about "leaking" widow billions to another country, their Duchy is threatened with bankruptcy. Politicians agree that this cannot be allowed and finds the Hana's future man - the secretary of the Embassy in Paris, Count Danil. It turns out that the Count and the widow were once familiar. What's more, they were lovers until Danila's uncle was opposed to marriage because Hana was just a simple girl without money, origin and prospects. The divorced in the most beautiful way, now Hana and Danila seek more to show their ambitions than to revive the flaming feelings once.

In the background of Paris, the real fiesta of intrigue, misunderstandings, failures and comicism is close. After all, after many quarrels, the collapse of plans and the creation of new ones, everything comes into place, love triumphs, and the Pontedro Duchy is protected from the disgraceful disappearance of the map.

Since the premiere in one of 1905, Lehar's operetta "Merry Widow" has become one of the most successful and most commonly built operettas of all time.
