Movement and puppet performance based on Edith Eger's book "Choice"

During World War II, Edita Eger together with her mother, father, and sister and other Jewish families were sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp. She, a ballet dancer and gymnast, danced for the so-called Angel of Death, Josef Mengele. The belief that everything that happens is temporary, that soon she will see her lover and parents, helped Edita to find strength and endure not only incomprehensible horror, cruelty, humiliation, dehumanization, exhausting work, hunger, diseases, the Road of Death, but also life. after that: “When they freed us, I was so weak that I could not even speak, I could not move, I was lying in a pile of corpses. We became free, but we didn't know what to do with our freedom." Both of Edita's parents died in the gas chamber. Her boyfriend was killed a day before her release. It took several years for Edita to learn to forgive - not only others, but also herself.

“I continue my journey of duality. I am looking for a transformation of the living and the dead. A movement, a figure and a person... Fragments of a person, shells, memories of a former life fly on the stage, which are only "fragments, short moments or touches, which make up the collage of life." We constantly live among them. They surround, hinder, and sometimes push forward. I think it's important to meet your ghosts, look them in the eye and let them go.
