Coffee Grinder - the main character of the play finds himself in the Lost and Found shelter, where unwanted, faded, wobbly things drink medicine for sadness, because the director of the shelter, Redbeard, keeps them locked in boxes and forbids them to walk the streets and cry. At the lost and found shelter, Malūnelis falls in love with a broken Umbrella and flies to the Moon to find a special machine for repairing umbrellas. In this witty journey full of the strangest characters and spells, Malūnelis, while heroically trying to save Skętukė from sadness, discovers something very simple and unexpected...
The story "The Coffee Mill" by the famous Polish poet K. I. Gałczyński, adapted for the stage by the Polish playwright Małgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk, which became the inspiration for the performance, promises the audience a rhythmic and symbolically eloquent puppet show, in which lyrical and playful adventures will alternate.
It is interesting that K. I. Gałczyńskis is famous for his collection of absurd miniatures and humorous sketches "The Green Goose Theater" (in Vilnius theater "Lėlė" in 2010 according to this piece was created as a performance for young people), he created "The Coffee Grinder" while living on Malūnai street, Vilnius. is it necessary to be one for the rest of your life?" - asks one of the heroes of our story. And it seems to me that this question best reflects the meaning of the play. We don't seek to find answers - we prefer to ask questions. In my opinion, "The Coffee Grinder" is a performance about revealing one's potential. And at the same time, about the healing power of hugs, which we lack so much these days." - says the Polish director Ewa Piotrowska, who is not creating for the first time (the performance "The Red Book") at the "Dolls" theater.
