On June 7th in Vilnius, for the LAST TIME this season, the wonderful play "MY FATHER" will be shown!
LAST TIME in this theater season, one of the best plays in the history of Lithuanian theater "My Father" will be shown! Only on June 7 (Friday) at 7 p.m., at the world-famous OKT (Oscar Korshunov Theater), which is located at Ashmenos st. 8, which has only 60 (!) seats, (the seats are not numbered), next to the monument to Dr. Aiskauda, one of the most painful, important, emotional plays in the history of Lithuanian theater "My Father" will be shown (Director and actor Aleksandras Rubinov, based on the play by Stanislav Rubinov) . The performance, which, despite all its tragic content, is filled with light, warmth and love, will be seen by only 60 lucky people! And it's just amazing! And it is not for nothing that the performance is very difficult to "catch" in Lithuania: because it is a participant in prestigious international theater festivals, many of them have been awarded the Grand Prix! But we managed to agree that we will show only one performance, and it will take place in one of the favorite cities of both the actor, the director, and the organizers themselves - Vilnius! ) his father was shot in the beginning of July 1941, and he and his mother were forced to hide in the forests of Western Belarus until 1944. They were constantly starving they managed to narrowly avoid death... This is a miraculous story of survival." As maestro Aleksandar Rubinov himself tells: My relationship with my father was special: he was my friend, teacher and director of my life. We talked for hours, sometimes we even argued, but we couldn't live without each other... I seemed to know everything about him. He really liked (and knew how) to tell about his life, meetings with wonderful people, interesting stories. But there was one subject he tried to avoid, and that was his Jewish background and the whole subsequent tragedy of his family. I only knew that his father (my grandfather) was killed in 1941. shot and that he and his mother (my grandmother) were forced to hide somewhere in the woods... But I didn't know the reason or the details. And it was only in 2013, half a year before his death, that my father made up his mind and wrote the book "In the Forest and on the Stage". When I read the manuscript I was shocked, I just cried. A huge story unfolded in front of me in its tragic scope. Now I understand why my father didn't want to talk about it and remember it. He simply protected me and my children from the horrors that he had to go through, and most importantly, he protected us from the Jewish curse. I was tormented by doubts for a long time until I decided to stage a play and tell people about MY FATHER. Scriptwriter, director and actor Aleksandras Rubinov .Composer Faustas Latenas. The performance also includes Jewish folk music. The duration of the performance is 1 hour. 10 min.
Getting into this performance is a gift of fate! Take advantage of this exciting, but unfortunately rare opportunity, especially with such a small number of seats in the hall!
