In the tragicomic play "NT Drama" by one of the most talented and active creators of Lithuanian
dramaturgy, Gabriele Labanauskaitė,
the playwright with light subtle humor, sharp and probing observes, evaluates and
illustrates the extent to which personal desires and dreams (to acquire own
housing) are governed by ideal life stereotypes used by
real estate service providers. In the play "NT Drama" the manipulation of real estate infrastructure with utopias and stereotypes is revealed, the mechanism of capitalist traps is shown, in which the weaker, socially and financially insecure part of people are the most affected. This social theme of the play has become even more relevant during the
pandemic period of recent years, with the growth of the real estate price bubble and people's
desperation, trying to protect their finances and recklessly
investing in any real estate, while young people
facing the capitalist absurdity of trying to get a loan from a bank
and buy your own home. The play "NT Drama" has not yet been staged in Lithuania, but has already
won the international prize for playwrights in 2021. Heidelberg
(Germany) theater festival "Heidelberger Stückemarkt".
Premiere of the play "NT Drama" Vilnius City Theater Atviras Ratas
starts its 17th creative season.
