The play is based on Noel Kaurad's famous play "The Restless Spirit" - a great comedy in which reality is strangely intertwined with mysticism.
"The Restless Spirit" is Noel Kaurda's most famous and successful play. Its first production, presented to the public in 1941, ran for 1,997 times and set a national record that was later surpassed only by Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap.
Why? Maybe because it's hard to say goodbye to love, and the shadows of our passions accompany us all our lives? Or with ex-wives, whether they are ghosts or not, it is never possible to reconcile?
This play combines the atmosphere of worldly comedy with elements of mysticism, creating a vivid and engaging theatrical action.
Once, the successful writer Charles Condominium decided to hold a small spiritualist session in his home so that he could observe the work of the medium and describe it in his new novel. The medium, Madame Arkate, accidentally summons the spirit of Charles's dead first wife, Elvira, who immediately begins to fight both with her ex-husband and with his new wife.
The spirit turns out to be unruly - the heroes' lives are turned upside down and everything goes haywire. An unhappy man tries to get rid of the "ghost of love", but it turns out to be a difficult task.
Why? Maybe because love is hard to say goodbye to, and the shadows of our passions accompany us throughout our lives? Or with ex-wives, whether they are ghosts or not, it is never possible to reconcile?
