Tango is an urban dance, an integral part of the culture and nightlife of the megalopolis of Buenos Aires. He was born on the street - where feelings flowed, where music sounded, where passion and nostalgia became an inseparable part of everyday life. Tango was and still is danced in bars, streets, corners - everywhere where life pulsates, where people feel and love.
"Tango en la Yeca" ("yeca" means street in the Buenos Aires slang called lunfardo) is a performance where tango comes to life as if it were born here and now: from a provocative look, a timid touch, a first embrace to an open, enchanting, passionate tango.
Dancers Alexis Gonzalez, Veronica Luna, Gabriel Carballo, Sol Oyhenart, Eduardo Pedroso, Jade Rodriguez, vocalist Patricija Luščynska share emotions with the audience in this dynamic show.
Choreographers - Sigitas Repšys and Alexis Gonzalez, lighting director - Modestas Jančiulis, sound director - Modestas Milčius ("Modis Events").
September 6th is celebrated in Buenos Aires as Tango Dancer's Day - this date was chosen in honor of the birth of the legendary dancer María Nieves.
Vilnius Tango Theater dedicates this evening to her memory and the spirit of tango that she embodied.
