Ralfs and Marta - a modern couple - are concerned about their careers, a healthy lifestyle, and their image in society. Marta, who has given up her job as a teacher, decides to run for the position of director of the institute, prepares carefully for the competition, but her life is disrupted by the news of a father who suddenly appeared and needs care. That man had been living with another woman for many years, but when she died, her children found Martha and declared that she, as a biological daughter, now had to take care of the old man. It doesn't fit in with Martha's strict agenda at all. What to do? How will their lives change? Or not accept it? The situation also affects the relationship between Marta and Ralph. My daughter has no good memories of that old man. How did he treat Marta as a child and what kind of treatment will he receive now?
Europe is getting older, but what is the position of old people in society? Are they just old, useless bodies? What is the relationship between children and parents, the relationship between abuse and care?
The creators of the show ask how memory shapes our present? Memories begin to create a new narrative by rewriting the past. Remembering here is like learning. A sense of fear pervades not only the content of "Sulphur Magnolias", but also the form of the play - dropping one stray word into the lips of the characters, Martin Algus creates tension, distrust, anxiety.
