Sleeping" is a play that symbolically introduces a new LNDT art to the audience of the Lithuanian National Drama Theater manager Oskars Koršunovas and new playwright Marius Ivaškevičius. Marius Ivaškevičius' futuristic dystopia sounds extremely relevant in the current times of the virus that has affected the whole world. The theme of "The Sleepers" is expected to be close, understandable and intriguing as never before to people who are surviving the pandemic, waking up from the quarantine that has paralyzed their lives.

The action of the play takes the audience to Moscow in 2109. An electronic alarm clock announces the start of the Second Shift awake cycle. One by one, three sisters come out of the thermoses, steaming and falling asleep. These are Nastia, Maja and Maria. She slept in anabiosis for ten years, so she has difficulty orienting herself in space and time, moves painfully due to muscle atrophy, and still exists between dreams and reality. It will take some time for them to realize in reality.

And it all started many years ago - in the fourth decade of the 21st century. Due to global warming and overpopulation of the planet, as fresh water and food resources began to run out, two World Water Wars took place one after the other. After them, the migration of billions of refugees finally destroyed the old world order: states, alliances, unions and their borders.

The problem of overpopulation was solved by discoveries in the field of genetics, allowing half of humanity to fall asleep for ten years. Thus began life in shifts. Since then, the shifts change each other every ten years, the watchful wake the sleepers and go to sleep themselves. Unfortunately, the two shifts have radically different values ​​and views on world governance and the future.
