The performance of sounds, smells and sensations "Mother of Winds" for visually impaired people or those who want to know the world in a different way.
Stalo Theater invites you to a performance of sounds, smells and sensations, to see the world differently, from a dark perspective, "sight" not with the eyes, but with other senses - ears, nose, fingertips, and most importantly - with heart.
The story based on an old Baltic fairy tale about the third brother, who set out to find his happiness, which is symbolized in the fairy tale by the beloved maiden - or his second Sun, is followed by two storytellers - voicers of the story. Step by step, adventure after adventure, together with the audience, they embark on a journey full of magic of sounds, smells and winds, leading safely through meadows and forests, floating across rivers, flying up and descending to the depths. But with one condition - the audience goes blindfolded to this journey for brave young people. And not just traveling, but touching, feeling, experiencing, discovering the world in the dark. How is it different? How does it smell, sound? Is it hard to get used to it? And finally - what does it mean to be blind?
In the performance, as always in the Stalo Theater, objects-things controlled by the actors work. In this performance, they come straight from the modern kitchen, although their purpose on stage is to "play" the characters of the old white fairy tale. Viewers can touch them, smell them, guess. Multi-layered and verbal fabric of the story - the creators of the performance creatively enrich the narrative text, which is full of fairy-tale sacredness, with funny and unexpected rhymes of the famous words, typical of Lithuanian sutartinas. According to the director, the performance "Mother of the Winds" by Stalo Theater is dedicated to visually impaired people or those who want to see the world in a different way. Therefore, spectators of school age, sighted, partially sighted or completely blind are invited to it. Together, they will experience that the darkness can not only hide, but also open, not only rattle in vain, but also ring. That the forests are rustling and flowers are blooming in it, birds are flying, ants are buzzing, fish are diving in it, that it emits sounds, movement, smells and it is not scary to be in it at all.
