The one-act play "Contrabos" is a parallel to our own everyday life. Today's society of honor-seekers and narcissists learns the same lesson every day as the hero of Mr. Süskind's drama - when you overestimate your capabilities, you are left to protest against the world that has not noticed your talent and begins to hate it. Or finally realizing that you are just one instrument in a big orchestra, probably not even a double bass, but a rattle.
This Klaipėda Youth Theater performance is a tragicomic monologue of a contrabassist disappointed with himself, music and the world. It reveals to the viewer the drama of a small person - how to accept the fact that you will never play a solo part, that you will never stand in the front row, that you are only a secondary character in your own life.
