"Summer wasps sting us even in November" is a story about how two men and one woman, not knowing what to do with their lives, how to fight absolute loneliness and meaninglessness, embark on a brave and tragicomic journey after a world of tangled relationships. They try to find a way out of a situation where normal communication methods no longer work. In order to free themselves from loneliness and self-deception, the play's heroes trying to escape the trap of time, to escape both from being and from oneself. The search for truth is gaining momentum, eventually leading to the absurd. And only the rain that is falling for the third day remains. Only the summer wasps that sting us even in November. It is very interesting and particularly exciting. Here, as always in I.Vyrypayev's plays, it is very funny, a little sad cruel and, finally, a little about the meaning of life.
Critics name I. Vyrypaev's dramaturgy as works that lie somewhere between the American director, the cult director of "Bulvarinii schaial" Quentin Tarantino, and the classic of Russian cinema, the director of "Soliario" Andrei Tarkovsky.
"Summer wasps sting us even in November" is my favorite play. Probably because there is a secret in the construction of the text itself. For example, there is one important detail that the audience will never know about in the play, but they can feel it. I don't know how this play will be staged, what key will be given to the audience. I am sure that there will be love and light in the play "wasps..." is a very difficult play to stage, so the directors have a difficult task. Of course, it is the author's fault, and perhaps the form is too complicated, but I hope that it will be fun, sad and useful for everyone", says I. Vyrypaev, the director of the play.
