"Mentir lo minimo" (lit. lie as little as possible) is a conceptual contemporary circus performance in which there is nothing accidental and nothing unnecessary.
"We believe that simplicity is the essence and the possibility to feel more deeply what is not visible. We see a simple action as if through a magnifying glass of the senses. A performance that, in its simplicity, will bring us closer to self-acceptance, no matter how complicated it may be. This performance is simple, poetic and seasoned with humor," the troupe says.
It is as it is. As with the minimalist movement, the meaning of a work of art changes depending on who sees it. The work does not depend on the artist, but on the eyes that look at it. "Minimal movements were born as a counterpoint to purely decorative art. Minimalism emphasizes the experience of society. The audience's gaze and action complete the performance. As in minimalist sculptures, this piece is not complete without the audience's gaze and its involvement," the creators say.
The dramaturgy of this show is based on the principle of space reduction. The performance starts in an 8x8m space, and in the course of it, the space is reduced to 6x6m, then to 3x3m until the minimum area is reached. How do these changes in space change performance technique? How much can two people and a bicycle create in such a small space? "Using various forms of space, we create atmospheres that touch the viewer. It is a show that leaves a different mark and unique interpretation for each participant. "The reduction of space and these changes also help the circus technique to adapt new forms, rhythms, colors and dynamics," the French say.
