In this extraordinary period, it is extremely important to reveal and present to the public the little-known side of Macherni's
work - prose creation that is special and unique. Through it, Macernis raises key philosophical,
existential questions, invites us to return to fundamental eternal values. "Human
existence is characterized by constant internal questions and searches for meaning, when there is a lot of uncertainty,
loneliness, inner confusion, anxiety, when there is a special longing for sincere, warm communication and
deep real things - Macernis speaks and with his works he spreads Faith and Hope, Light and Truth (what each of us longs for in our hearts). "brings the rising of the sun" (when
we find ourselves in existential darkness), as if reminding us of the perception, the choice of what is
most important in life: "But you can not give up and remain a person who never lets the sun out of your eyes and from
of the heart".

will help you get to know and discover a different Mačernis.
V. Mačernis is a creator and philosopher of intellectual poetry that raises existential questions.
He is often called the genius of Lithuania. "All of his work is permeated with the true and natural breath of a young genius" (A. Nyka-Niliūnas). Having died extremely young (23 years old), V. Mačernis managed to leave behind immeasurable depth, special maturity and artistic value The poet wrote that
"life is the high moments during which a person unfolds in the fullness of the universe. They alone make a person." life is really valuable. And my greatest desire is to teach everyone to crave those
high moments!"
V. Macernis is known as the pioneer of new Lithuanian poetry, one of the most significant
poets of his generation. He is described and presented as a unique poet who composed wonderful poems. But very few people know that V. Macernis also wrote... prose! Which is also unique, speaking about fundamental
philosophical existential matters, inviting a return to fundamental eternal values, to
preserving humanity, no matter what happens.
