Richard Gavel's book "Memoirs of a Young Man", which appeared at the end of the 90s of the last century, touched the nerve of that time. The book openly talks about the crossroads of a young person's life - to adapt to the standards dictated by society, or to go against the current? Young director Eglė Švedkauskaitė reads "Memoirs of a Young Man" in the language of modern theater with the dramatist of her generation, Mindaugas Nastaravičius.
According to E. Švedkauskaitė, "Memoirs of a Young Man" is a play about the short life of a young man drowned in expectations and visions, which ended tragically. It is a journey from the beyond to the beyond - from one's memory to the memory of the living. In a performance full of live music and memorable roles, balancing between comedy and drama, this journey does not leave anyone indifferent, and the questions raised by R. Gavelis sound prophetically relevant.
