One of the most promising and interesting creators of the country's theater, director Adomas Juška, who made his debut at the Youth Theater and created several productions based on complex prose texts here, begins to interpret the novel "Minor Detail" by the Palestinian author Adania Shibli.
"Minor detail" consists of two contrasting parts. The first part tells about 1949. crime: a Palestinian girl was raped and killed by Israeli soldiers. In the second part, a woman from Ramallah reads about this crime in the newspaper, and realizes that the day of the girl's murder coincides with her birthday. She then embarks on an arduous and futile journey to Israel to uncover more information and try to uncover the story from the murdered girl's side rather than the soldiers' testimony.
According to the director of the performance, A. Juška, "the book raises questions that do not give me peace. How to tell about violence? Where is the limit that cannot be overcome by narration, art, empathy? Is (re)narrative possible that does not create a copy of the violence that happened? What does it mean to not have power? How does this change the nature of the narrative? How can a stronger person empathize with a weaker one if he cannot understand his story? We will start rehearsals with these questions. From the story to be told we can't, and we also can't tell which one we don't."
Premiere: 2025 November 25, 26
